It has been a while since my last overseas vacation and I find myself often reflecting back to the amazing memories that accompany those trips-with my family and friends, laughter, good food, beautiful cultures and of course the magical scenery.
One of the first experiences I’m drawn to as I enter into a new country, is the amazing skies and light that bathes the region. Every country has its own unique light and its mesmerising how it shifts as the day progresses.
Some countries experience a misty light while others enjoy a clarity of light that accentuates the colours of the landscapes.
Have you experienced this when you travel? How would you describe the light in your country and how does it make you feel?
Each form of light influences our emotions and thoughts. When we feel the desire to travel to another part of the country or world, our subconscious is craving to experience a new form of light exposure. This in turn enables us to enjoy the region visited, even more.
If you are intrigued how your body responds to the varying light where you are, try this.
When you wake in the morning, observe what feels most refreshing for you-starlight, dawn or after the sun has peeked over the horizon?
Do you enjoy midday or desire to rest on the shade?
How do you feel as the day cools and the light fades, is sunset your favourite light of the day?
Are you a starlight or moonlight person preferring the softer light against a dark velvet sky?
Understanding how your mind, emotions and soul feel during different times of the day, enables you how to tap into maximising these times for your wellbeing.
When you find your formula, you are able to compare it to other gradients of light during times of travel and also various seasons across the world.
Light is a wonderful medicine and when you find what heals you, your own inner light strengthens.
As you move through this month, how could this information influence the way you approach your light exposure within your current country or region of origin?
